The Zephyr’s wings utilize variable geometry to optimize performance in all flight realms. The wings extend to an angle of 35º for slow speed and retract to 65º for supersonic flight. The composite sculpted wings are attached to an inner fixed fairing and utilize triple cylinder hydraulic screw actuators to extend and retract. The size of the outer actuators minimizes structural loads and transfers them into the airframe without the need for massive and heavy materials.
